Hershey Park with Carston

Grandpa Dave and Carston in front of the Hershey Factory.
Great place to visit. Lots of chocolate and very
interesting.
So hot that day our chocolate melted!
Roller Coasters everywhere. Never saw anything like it...

Waiting for Baby Shelby

Erin was so miserable the day before she went into labor. This picture was taken at a Cub Scout meeting at the Church.

Erin in labor at the hospital in Wilmington, NC. The labor "team" is asleep on the pull out couch behind her. She was in labor for 12 hours and they finally decided she would have to have an emergency C-section.

Shelby Mae in the nursery just after birth. She weighed in at 9 lbs. 14 oz. The surgery team took bets on how big she would be and they were amazed.

Erin and Jason right after the C-section.

The proud father. Jason was a real trooper.

Emma was so happy to see her new sister.
She is such a good helper now.

Jason was so glad to get his new sister. He is a great helper to
Erin and Shelby now. He sits next to Shelby in the car
to make sure she is okay. Shelby loves him and wants
to hold his hand. He sings to her when she is cranky.
Erin was so glad to have the whole ordeal over.
She is such a trooper.

These t-shirts were so cute. The nurses throught that
they were so adorable.

On the Ranch..... The evening that Dave flew in from Pennsylvania, we had the pleasure of doing Mark and Jaquels "chores" for a few days. We cared for their animals and had a great time.

Dave is feeding the mares who have new colts. He did such a good job.

Dave made a great friend. Mark has a mule that just loved Dave. When he would see us coming up the lane to the house he would start braying. He wouldn't stop until Dave went over and paid some attention to him.

This mare was ready to have her baby. We were nervous the whole time they were gone that she would go into labor. Whew, she held out and we were saved....

Summer of 2009

We had a great summer this year. I went to Dad's, in Challis Idaho, the month of May. While there, he celebrated his 85th birthday. Jacquel and Mark were gracious enough to have us out to their lovely home for a cookout and cake. We had a wonderful visit with those who could make it. Enjoy some of the pictures from that day.

This is a picture of Makayla. She was helping me cut and serve the cake.
